How Our Tours Work
Our tour schedule is flexible and is usually confirmed the day before (or very close to the day), based on what our current guests are most excited to do.
All tours are open to both hostel guests and non-guests, with a slightly discounted price for Shkodra Hostel guests.
All transport is private, using Shkodra Hostel vehicles and routes curated by our local owners — so every experience is personal and locally designed.

Albanian Alps
Discover the raw beauty of the Albanian Alps on a scenic mountain hike filled with hidden gems, peaceful trails, and a beautiful waterfall along the way with the Blue Eye as just one of several unforgettable stops.
Along the hike, we stop at a couple of stunning viewpoints to soak in the epic mountain scenery, share laughs, and enjoy the good vibes all the way through.
Albanian Highlands Waterfall
Discover the wild beauty of the Albanian Highlands on a hike to a stunning hidden waterfall near Vermosh, surrounded by open meadows, clear rivers, and epic mountain views.
Along the way, we stop at a couple of gorgeous viewpoints, natural pools, explore scenic trails, connect with fellow travelers, and soak up the atmosphere of one of Albania’s most untouched mountain regions.
Shkoder Canyon
Discover the hidden beauty of Shkoder Canyon on a short walk along a rocky path, just a short drive from the city, leading into a stunning landscape of turquoise river pools, dramatic limestone cliffs, and lush green canyon walls.
This is a favorite summer spot for locals, giving you a true local experience. For those who want an extra thrill, there are safe, optional rock and cliff jumps. We spend the day hanging out by the water, enjoying music and great company, like a beach day with friends only far more special, set inside a fresh-water canyon unlike anywhere else.
Lake & Castle
We start the day high above Shkoder at Rozafa Castle, exploring hidden corners and secret photo spots our owners grew up visiting on school trips.
After soaking in the views, we head to Shkodra Lake for a private boat tour, stopping on the water to jump in and swim before being taken by boat to an upscale local Albanian restaurant for a relaxed, family-style feast.
After the meal, enjoy some time kayaking or swimming in the lake, or relaxing on the rocky cove just below the restaurant.
Albanian Highlands Peak
Join us for an unforgettable high–altitude adventure in the Albanian Highlands, starting with a stunning balcony viewpoint over the border of Albania and Montenegro.
We then hike to one of the Balkans’ most impressive peaks, rising to 2,750 m, with an exciting 800 m ascent. The climb takes around 2.5 hours, followed by a scenic 1.5-hour descent, with nonstop views and photo stops along the way.
After we enjoy a relaxed meal at a local mountain restaurant (or bring your own lunch for a picnic). Finishing the day with a refreshing swim in a hidden natural pool.
Shala River
Many travelers refer to this place as Albanian Thailand and it’s easy to see why. A scenic mountain drive brings us to Komani Lake, where a private speedboat takes us across emerald water to the stunning Shala River.
The day is all about slowing down by the river – relaxing, swimming, playing volleyball, and exploring with our knowledgeable local guides to a beautiful hidden viewpoint most visitors never find.
On the way back across the lake, we stop for a refreshing swim straight from the boat, then finish the day at a beautiful lakeside restaurant – a relaxed and unforgettable way to experience one of Albania’s most iconic landscapes.
Sunset Boat Cruise
Chase the sunset with us as we depart from the hostel to the shores of Shkodra Lake, where a private boat awaits to take us across calm waters beneath a glowing mountain skyline. Cruise into golden hour with music playing, cameras ready, and nothing to do but relax and soak in the atmosphere.
As the sun dips behind the peaks, we dock at a lakeside restaurant to enjoy an upscale traditional Albanian feast served family-style, celebrating fresh local flavors. The evening ends gathered around a cozy bonfire by the water’s edge — the perfect blend of nature, culture, and unforgettable views.
